So this begins the journey of me trying to break Malort. A spirit most people hate and the ones who love it normally love it because they adore the hell that is Malort. It is a spirit I want to make myself love and in doing so I’m determined to make a drink I enjoy that makes Malort its main spirit. It’s far to easy to hide Malort in the back of the circus. I want to make that monster the ringleader.
- 1 Oz Malort
- 1 Oz Aperol
- 1 Oz Sweet Blanc Vermouth
Stir and serve on a rock. This one is pretty obvious with where I started from, kinda taking a bit of inspiration from a Negroni but bastardized to all hell. The Aperol and Sweet blanc Vermouth both add more sweetness and solidarity to the drink where Malort comes in like a hammer.
I would take more time to explain this one but its honestly a decent way to enjoy Malort but you do need to enjoy Malort to jump into this one. Its a main spirit and easily the star for the show.
