A refreshing cocktail meant to be enjoyed any time of the year. Floral but easy on the pallet this take on a gimlet is simple yet lovely.
- 2 Oz (60 ml) of Gin or Vodka
- 1 Oz (30 ml) of Rosemary simple Syrup
- .5 Oz (15 ml)of Elderflower Liquor
- .5 0z (15 ml) of Lemon juice
Shake all four ingredients combined in a tin with just some regular cubed ice. Serve up (that means with no ice in the glass) in a coup(they look like rounded martini glasses that are commonly used for gimlets). If wanted a garnish of a fresh rosemary sprig is a nice addition.
My preferred ingredients
- For Gin or Vodka I personally prefer a more herbal gin like St. George’s Terroir. It adds more depth to the drink though if you personally don’t like a herbal gin or gin in general a nice Vodka like Titos or Ketal one would be lovely
- Rosemary simple I think is best made homemade but there are alternatives that can be found around already made. Some of those may be sweeter and lack a bit of rosemary punch though.
- For elderflower Liquor I personally prefer the more natural and intense flavor of Giffard Wild Elderflower though St. Germain is more popular and more available
- Finally just fresh Squeeze some lemons. Measure it out but About half a lemon should handle half an ounce
This cocktail is near and dear to my heart cause it was the first one I ever made that went onto an official menu. It was originally made with vodka cause the bar I worked at lacked a vodka drink entirely. My boss made a rosemary simple one day and I became inspired. Not long later this drink was born. Please enjoy it in any way you like. Vodka or Gin.
