So this was one of my first cocktails. Nothing spectacular but not everything can be. Its something that I believe is worth looking at to see how I started.
Recipe
- 1 Oz Aged rum
- 1 Oz Scotch
- 1 Oz Cinnamon and Black pepper simple
- 1 Oz Orgeat
So three main points. The aged rum needs to be a vanilla on the nose rum, Secondly the scotch lacking peat is ideal (I’d aim for a speyside or a lowland scotch), and finally the cinnamon and black pepper simple should be more cinnamon forward then black pepper.
Stir all four ingredients and serve over a stone with a cinnamon stick that you light the tip of before putting it out in the drink. Like a cigarette into a drink after all.
The drink is decently spirit forward meant for someone whos gonna enjoy the bold flavors but want something to drink with dinner.
