2 Oz (60 ML) Gin
0.5 Oz (15 ML) Maraschino Liqueur
0.25 Oz (7 ML) Creme de Violette
0.75 Oz (22 ML) Lemon Juice
Combine all ingredients into a shaker and double strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry.
The Aviation was first created at the beginning of the 1900s when it first appeared in Huge Enslinn’s book “Recipes for Mixed Drinks” in 1916. The drink went extinct in the 1960s when Creme de Violette ceased to be produced. In 2007 Haus Alpenz brought Creme de Violette in from Austria and led the the liqueur’s renaissance.
